/BUSINESS REQUIREMENTS

Problem:

The previous apparel photography for Beachbody and Teambeachbody lacked creativity and appeal. The images were also very small.

Solution:

We decided to take a new approach to rebranding all of the apparel lines and treat apparel as a separate Beachbody brand entirely. With the launch of Wave 1 all of the apparel photography will be shown as larger images with zoom functionality, which significantly improves the shopping experience for the users.

Opportunity:

To create a new look and feel for Beachbody apparel by introducing a lifestyle approach with choice poses, backgrounds, and new models.

Goals:

  • Create higher fan base through social media
  • Create beautiful assets for the launch of Wave 1, Teambeachbody, Beachbody, social media and banners promoting apparel
  • Rebrand to achieve a more unique and fun appeal
  • Increase apparel sales

/WOMEN'S ACTION SHOTS

Women’s action shots were used for social media, banner promotions, print-outs, and were also included as either the back, side, or front shot on the Teambeachbody.com site and they will also be included on the Wave1 site once it launches.

/WOMEN'S PRODUCT SHOTS

We decided to take a new direction for shooting product shots and lifestyle. I believe that the more natural a model looks and the more relaxed the body is, the clothes will look their best to produce the natural feel that sports apparel should have.

We shot front poses, ¾ length shots (either right or left based on location of brand logo), back shots, and detail shots if needed. If the apparel had a hoodie or any other details (such as pockets) I made sure we got those shots as well.
In order to best capture all aspects of the brand identity, I prepared look and feel boards for the makeup and poses to be used. We also paid close attention to each specific brand when casting our models each time. It was a very rewarding experience to work alongside such an amazing photography and production crew, along with talented stylists and models who have already worked for other notable brands such as Carbon38 and Victoria Secret.

/MEN'S ACTION SHOTS

Men’s action shots were used like the women’s for social media, banner promotions, print-outs. They were also included as either the back, side, or front shot for the Teambeachbody.com site and will be included on the Wave1 site once it launches.

/MEN'S PRODUCT SHOTS

Fitness apparel looks its best when it feels natural in the shot and on the model. For male models in particular, a relaxed body allows the clothes to look their best. We decided to shoot a variety of angles, including front poses, ¾ length shots (either right or left depending on location of brand logo), back shots, and detail shots if needed (i.e. hoodie, pockets, etc).

Based on the brand and collection, I prepared look and feel boards for the poses that would best reflect the brand identity. We also cast our models based on the brands we are shooting each time. I was very honored to work with an incredible photography and production crew along with an amazing team of stylists and models who have previously worked for notable brands such as Nike and Hugo Boss.

Before the actual apparel photoshoot I met with the print department, the social media departments, and the brand leads to discuss which brands they would want to advertise for any upcoming promotions or brochures. Since I already had a direction for the web site their input would allow me to decide what to focus on during the photoshoot and which action shots to get.
